Tidewater Art Center & Gallery -

Tidewater is now in its eighth year at its downtown location and boasts a vigorous collaborative of member artists. However, the gallery would like to expand and increase its membership in hopes of decreasing the staffing load on current artists, as well as offering a more diversified collection of fine art. Mediums in which the gallery is now weak include sculpture, fiber arts, basketry and woodworking. All artists are encouraged to join the gallery, nonetheless. There are two categories of membership; working and non-working. Working artists help staff the gallery, pay an annual fee of $75, and pay a 25% commission to the gallery on sales. Non-working artists who are unable to staff the gallery pay an annual fee of $150, and pay a 40% commission on sales. Interested artists are invited to pick up an application and submit it with samples of their work to the gallery. The member artists review the application and make their recommendations to the Board of Directors for approval. Artists meet on the first Monday of each month; the Board meets on the second Wednesday. You may also call the gallery at (209) 463-4033 to have the application sent.
