Arturo and Julian Vera
"Father and Son Show" Photographic works are shown by Arturo Vera and his son, Julian Vera. Arturo is an award-winning photographer and a long-time member of the gallery. His son, Julian, was a "Best of Show" winner in last year's Student Art Show.Show opens April 7th and the artist reception is on April 10th at 5 PM.

"Watercolors by well known artist Dan Petersen." Masterful works by this noted watercolorist capture on papers the smells, the sounds, the tastes, the touch, and mostly the sights of nature in magnificent landscapes. Show opens May 5th and the artist reception is on May 8th at 5 PM.

Disturbing
An intriguing photo exhibit features photographer John Nagle. John likes to tell a story with his photos featuring simple scenes with complex messages. His images are meant to move the viewer to understanding and emotion. Show opens on June 2nd and the reception is on June 12th at 5 PM.

5th Annual San Joaquin Potters Guild Show
The Guild will exhibit a dramatic sampling of functional ware, sculpture, Raku and wood fired pottery. Exhibiting will be noted potters not only from San Joaquin, but from throughout Northern California. The show opens on July 7th and the artist reception is on July 10th at 5 PM. |

Large Paintings by returning guest artist Marilyn Pellouchoud
Most of this Brentwood artist's works are large. At 4-6 feet in height and length they feature traditional objects in a non-traditional way. Beginning with a drawing of a specific object, she then layers the work with gold leaf or other mixed media creating a visual experience that trancends more than just a single dimension. The

Tidewater will host its summer charity fundraiser on Saturday, August 29, at the beautiful Brookside home of Dr. Harjit Sud (Click for Images of location). In addition to tastings of premium wines accompanied by hearty hors d’oeuvres, and a selection of exquisite raffle items, this year’s event features a totally new element, “Art by the Yard.” Guests will have the opportunity to bid for positions to select their section of choice from a 6’x40’ canvas created by Tidewater and other local artists. Story Weavings by Candy Carlson
"Story Weavings" Mixed Media artist Candy Carlson creates weavings using paper, natural fibers, metallic threads, and other fibers and embellishes the surfaces with beading, gold leafing, and acrylic paints. Her work reflects the layers of personal experiences that add richness, color and texture to our lives. Random incidents, isolated events, and painful tragedies may seem like meaningless chaos when viewed individually; but when woven together make up the rich tapestry that tells our life stories. The show opens on September 8 and the artist's reception is September 11 from 5pm to 8pm. Framing done by Jonise C. Oliva at Deck the Walls.
Jesse Hendricks Trio
Plan today to attend this wonderful event at the TIDEWATER ART GALLERY. Classic guitarist Jesse Hendricks will perform with Bay Area bassist Daniel Parenti and Latin percussionist Nick Auremma in a two hour performance of “Spanish Nights”, stunning music from the Mediterranean. The History of Stockton
The Tidewater Art Gallery is pleased to present selected historical Stockton photographs from the Bank of Stockton's extensive photographic archive. The Bank's collection contains over 27,000 images, 20,000 of which were produced and collected by local photographer Leonard Covello, plus another 7,000 images added by the bank since acquiring Covello's collection in 1990.
Selected photographs will be exibited at the Tidewater Art Gallery October 6-30, 2009, with an opening reception on October 9 from
5 to 8p.m.
