Arturo's first experience with a camera was during his military service in Vietnam. Following, he studied photography at the Academy of Art in San Francisco, majoring in photography and film.


Henry PaineHenry Paine
Years ago, after seeing the work of Edward Weston, Brett Weston and Ansel Adams, I wanted to be able to produce that type of black and white fine art photography. As part of the learning process, I attended workshops by Brett Weston and Ansel Adams and I taught myself the Zone System technique that was first developed by Adams.

John Nagle has experienced a 50-year love affair with cameras and photography, working with print film, 8mm movies, VHS and for the last 2 years with digital photography. He will display a variety of works in color and black and white, and promises his images will break some rules and allow visitors to leave having smiled, frowned, reflected and wondered.

As a young child growing up in Louisiana I had a fondness for photography. Using a plastic snap shot camera was a great way to share memories with family and friends. Over the years I have enjoyed traveling often and photography has allowed me the opportunity to continue sharing many of these experiences with friends that I've made over the years.

Denny is a fourth generation Californian and long-time resident of Stockton.  He attended local schools and graduated from UC Berkeley in 1970. Denny is primarily an abstract expressionist working in mixed media.  Currently, he is again discovering photography and uses the multi images of his paintings layered digitally.  His artistic eye finds him exploring collage and mixed-media as he creates and expresses to the world his images.

Having begun painting lessons at age nine, Mary Lois has had a varied background in art, having studied under noted artists in Massachusetts, Carmel, and the Bay Area, working on location throughout California, England, and France with them.

Working in abstract expressionism, Helen uses acrylic, colored pencil and collage to express feeling through color and texture. She wants her paintings to express a bit of the mystery of life. It is her hope that viewers will stand before her work and exact a message from it that is for them very personal.

Leon immigrated to the United States with his family when he was an adolescent. 
His passion for the arts motivated him to further his study in fine arts.  He attended the Academy of Art in San Francisco and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in December 2007.Leon uses many media in his artwork such as oils, acrylics, pastels, watercolors, and caran d’ache. 



Lucas CromwellLucas Cromwell
Lucas’ passion for the arts started at an early age, immersing himself in as many art classes as possible. He studied at the Art Institute of Phoenix and graduated with honors from the program. His paintings are emotion filled, drawing on life experiences and situations.

Gil Garcia
Gil's paintings include contemporary, surreal and impressionistic styles featured in landscapes, portraiture and still life. Gil comes from a family of artists, so he has always had art in his life. For 25 years, his form of art was expressed through his drawings as a restaurant designer. It wasn't until 1992, influenced by Leonard Niemoy's play "Vincent", that he purchased his first oils and brushes.

Bob’s artistic education has been mostly self taught with several decades of experimentation with watercolor and acrylic mediums.  His art endeavors now include oil, acrylic, watercolor, pencil and ink drawings and paintings.  Subjects are landscapes, portraits, miniatures, fanciful bird images, and more recently, Audubon-like renderings of birds.

Jorge received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from University of the Pacific in 1994, with a focus on drawing and painting.  He appeared on the Dean’s Honor Roll several times during his tenure. An award-winning artist, he received the Stockton Art League Award and Honorable Mention in the 37th Annual Unitarian Fall Art Festival in 1995.

Tina has been a professional artist and teacher for over 25 years.  She received an AA and BA degree in Art and a Masters in Education.  Animals and people, particularly faces, have always fascinated her and are the subjects of her best works.She is a signature member of the Pastel Society of America and the Pastel Society of the West Coast, an associate member of Women Artists of the West, as well as a member of the Portrait Society of America.

Gay Lynn’s parents were rockhounds, so minerals, gemstones, gold and silver were all part of her childhood. As she was growing up and working in textiles and clothing as her art form, she often incorporated jeweled items into the piece.

Born and raised in Stockton, Susan remembers being encouraged by her artistic grandmother to draw, paint and explore creatively. But a fascination with small things (seeds, beads, rocks, marbles, shells), the natural world, and how things work, led her to pursue an education and career in the microbiological sciences.

Sean Flaherty
Working in clay, Sean creates decorative pots and occasionally plates, bowls and sculptures. To Sean, his pots are more than just shape, they are a canvas for showing off exciting color combinations.

Jessie WongJessie Wong
Jessie has been using clay as her art medium since 2000.  Jessie tries to incorporate her love of animals and nature into her pottery because they have so much to teach us when we are able to listen.  Her goal is to have clay create the same positive influence in people’s lives as it does in hers.

Since receiving her B.A. in Art from California State University in 1985, Candy Carlson has been involved in the arts both personally and professionally. Her work has been described as mixed-media with fiber art techniques; she creates weavings using paper, natural fibers, metallic threads, metal wire, and found objects, and embellishes the surfaces with beading, gold leafing, and acrylic paints.
